Chambers Gatekeeper helps you pause before visiting supported social websites, answer 1L study questions, and use a timed break. This policy covers the Chrome extension, separately from the Chambers website and iPhone app.

What the extension uses

The extension uses the supported site's hostname, the purpose you type, your chosen break duration, visit timestamps, and question IDs already shown. It checks your answers to count progress toward a break. Individual answers are not saved or sent to Chambers.

The extension displays its gate on supported sites and pauses audio and video while that gate is active. It does not read your messages, passwords, contacts, or social-feed text. It does not access browsing history outside its supported sites.

Where information is stored

Extension storage: the question rotation and the Scroll Ledger stay in Chrome's local extension storage. The ledger retains up to 1,000 entries containing the site's hostname, your typed purpose, the grant time, and minutes granted. It does not store full browsing URLs. Question rotation stores question IDs, not your answers. The extension does not use Chrome Sync to upload this information.

Website storage: temporary passes, typed purposes for those passes, and recent-unlock timestamps are stored in each supported site's local storage. Scripts running on that same site can access this site storage. Avoid entering private or sensitive information as a purpose. This storage is separate from the extension's local ledger.

Transmission and third parties

The extension does not transmit these records to Billy Joseph Ndizeye or a Chambers server. It includes its question bank and code in the extension package and has no advertising, analytics, or remote-code service. It does not sell records or use them for advertising, creditworthiness, or lending decisions.

When you choose an external link on the calm page or email support, the destination website or email provider handles that interaction under its own policies. Chrome and the Chrome Web Store separately provide browser, installation, update, and distribution services.

Limited use

Chambers Gatekeeper uses browsing activity and user-entered data only for its disclosed study gate, timed passes, question rotation, and local Scroll Ledger. It does not use or transfer those records for advertising, unrelated profiling, or sale. Its use of data follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Permissions

The storage permission saves the question rotation and Scroll Ledger. Content scripts run on Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X, Facebook, Reddit, and YouTube to display the gate and countdown. YouTube Music is excluded. The extension does not request access to every website, your browser-history database, or your identity.

Removing records

Removing the extension removes its extension-owned local storage. Site-local pass and unlock records are separate and can remain after removal; clear site data in Chrome for each affected site to remove those records. Clearing site data may also sign you out of that site. A pass's end time controls access, even if a saved record has not yet been removed. We cannot recover locally deleted records.

This information website

These public information pages are hosted on Vercel. Visiting them sends normal web-request information, such as an IP address and browser request headers, to the hosting provider to deliver the pages. The pages have no analytics scripts, account forms, or advertising. The Chrome extension does not upload your ledger, purposes, or question history to this website.
